6月26日星期四下午2点，沪江网编辑参加埃克塞特大学在沪举办的记者见面会。埃克塞特大学校委会一共来了3位负责人，分别是埃克塞特大学副校长PROFESSOR NEIL ARMSTRONG，交流和合作部经理SEAN FIELDING和国际办公室助理主任MARY McCRINDLE。3位校委会负责人十分亲和，为我们解答了所有关于这所英国名校的问题。
At 2p.m. of June 26th, a press conference of UNIVERSITY OF EXETER was held in Shanghai. The editors of HJenglish.com attended the meeting. Deputy vice-president Prof. Neil Armstrong, director of Communication and Partnership Mr. Sean Fielding and the assistant director of the International Office gave us a kind welcome and answered our questions about this famous university in the UK.

The University of Exeter is located in the City of Exeter, which is the commercial center of south-west Britain with a population of 100,000 people. Buildings of the middle ages as well as the modern styles, magical beach, precipitous cliff and temperate weather makes the city a most popular tourist attraction.

The history of the University of Exeter could be tracked back to the year of 1851 when there was a thumping exbihition held in the city which rised endless interest of the public on art. Thus, in the year 1855, an Art school was established. By 1922, the school has become a college in south-west Britain, which is now the Streatham Campus of the university. In 1955 with the royal anthorization the Universiry of Exeter today's University of Exeter was established. The university boasts as one of the most popular universities with outstanding researching and teaching ability. Now the Univerisity of Exeter owns 8,000 full time students, 2,500 part time students, among whom 2,000 international students from 115 countries and 500 students from Europe. There are 450 Chinese students studying on the campus. In the British university ranking in 2008, the University of Exeter runs the 13th. Nineteen majors in the university win international credits, among which the business classes rank first in 2006 and 2007.
