沪江独家专访—听英国学生谈中英文化差异

2008年8月29号，英国学生的“英国首相特派项目——英国青年中国访学”项目马上就要接近尾声，沪江网特地请来两名英国学生作为代表来畅谈他们对中英文化差异的一些看法。

Hostess: Welcome to our hjenglish.com, please first say hello to our website users.
Dominic: I’m Dominic; I’m from Manchester, north of England. I came to Shanghai to find out how business works.
Josh: I’m Josh; I’m from the middle of England. I’m come here to learn more about Chinese Culture and how it works.

Hostess: You never been to China before?
Dominic: Never been to Asia, never been to the whole country at all.

Hostess: Before you came here, have you got some imagination about China?
Josh: I saw a lot of Chinese things, such like temples, but China is different like we have imagined.

Hostess: Before you came to China, you imagined that China would be old styled, but after you came here, you still think so?
Dominic: quite different. I think we saw several old Chinese buildings today.

Hostess: The first day you came here, do you have the chance to go to the old town in Shanghai?
Dominic: oh, yes.
Josh: we went to business district a lot; we went to Macdonald’s…

Hostess: Is the taste different in China?
Dominic: no, not really.
Josh: everything in China adds a lot of salad that is a little bit different.

Hostess: what is the deepest impression about Shanghai?
Dominic: when we first got off the plane, we were going out three tunnels until we got the entrance. We came over a bright out of the tunnel; we saw huge buildings and everyone so small.
Josh: in the UK, you rarely get buildings larger than like five stories. You came to Shanghai, you surrounding like, you rarely get buildings lower that thirty. So it’s a huge difference.

Hostess: have you learn some Chinese culture during this trip?
Dominic: yes, during the first two weeks we went to culture motions. We learn a lot about Chinese culture, particularly Peking opera. We went to Su Zhou and saw the Peking opera performance that performed for the Olympics. We learn Tai Ji, we did Tai Ji for an hour in the morning for the first two weeks.
Josh: we went to Jian Hou Club and did some popular Chinese at morning activities, like we did shuttlecock.

Hostess: you went to Su Zhou, and where else did you visit?
Dominic: we went to the Yellow Mountain.
Josh: and I stayed with a host family.
Dominic: some people went to Ning Bo just this weekend, most of the people in Shanghai.
